City Voices is one of the most versatile chamber choruses in the Chicago area. Founded in 2009 in Oak Park, the ensemble has built a strong reputation as a welcoming group of experienced singers who deliver high-quality performances. City Voices explores challenging, eclectic, and inspiring music from the vast global span of choral compositions. Each season, we prepare a carefully curated repertoire and share its beauty in a series of public performances.
City Voices presents its own programs and also collaborates with other ensembles. Recent programs have included Monteverdi Vespers; Musicians Wrestle Everywhere, a concert of music inspired by poetry; Music Rich and Strange, with works by Vaughan Williams and his contemporaries; and performances of the Kodály Missa Brevis and other sacred works.
